Kids under 21 Stay for Free
at the Black Forest B&B
(with their family)

Picture
yourself in a massive log home built in the majestic Black Forest,
the highest point east of the Rocky Mountains. Experience panoramic
views with all the beauty of the Rockies, the towering Ponderosa
pines, the golden aspens and the fragrant meadows, while being only
10 minutes to "town" and only 15-30 minutes to most of the tourist
attractions of the Pikes Peak region of CO.
Your relaxing
vacation begins with the arrival of a delicious breakfast tray of
hot muffins and fresh fruit brought to your door. Enjoy breakfast
in bed or on the terrace - your choice. Juices, a coffee maker and
a selection of coffees and teas are always available in your room
or suite.
We are the Redden
Family.
Father, Rex,
is the natural log builder in the family, with 30 years of honing
lumberjack skills culminating most recently into the "axe-peeled"
hand crafted log pavilion (The Lodge Mahal) for our guests to enjoy.
Mother, Susie,
designed and built the Lodge
Log Home from 1984 to 1996, when she opened the Black Forest
B&B with the Loft Suite and His & Hers rooms. Since then
there has been a lot of growth:
1994 - Our
1600 sq. ft. Haven House with indoor pool
1998 - The Ark Suite with fireplace and whirlpool tub
2003 - Our Cabin, Bunkhouse, and Lodge Rental
2004 - Our Chalet House and Log Pavilion
Daughter, Faith,
and son, Alan, were born into the innkeeping business in 1992 and
1994 respectfully. They are home schooled and available every morning
to serve your breakfast trays.
If you are a
lover of log homes or have ever dreamed of building your own log
home, we will show you the ropes. Also, if you are planning on relocating
to the Colorado Springs area, Susie is a licensed real estate broker
with over 20 years experience with the Rawhide
Company Realtors and can assist you with all your real estate
needs.
This
rustic mountain setting is complete with 20 rolling acres of Ponderosa
pines to explore. And if you want to experience mountain living
to the fullest extent, we will be more than happy to share our chores
with you, from cutting firewood to planting Christmas trees.
